Harewood Whin Leachate Treatment Plant – Original Design and Construction Supervision/Process Commissioning

Harewood Whin Leachate Treatment Plant (near Rufforth, west of York, Yorkshire) was originally built in 1990 to Steve Last’s detailed design and specification, to treat leachate generated by the Harewood Whin landfill operations.
The site continues to operate after over 35 years of service. It has since been modified/updated multiple times as leachate quality and compliance requirements changed, including major refurbishment and upgrade works reported in 2024.

Nha Trang Landfill Project
Completed a leachate treatment and disposal options study, drafted the technical specifications and provided a full report on the preferred treatment process and disposal option, for the landfill owner which was the Regional Government.
Preferred treatment was Extended Aeration SBR to sewer, after review of the Reverse Osmosis alternative showed Biological SBR Treatment option would be lower cost and allow appropriate technology to be locally resourced, operated, and maintained.
